My name is Michele Landry.  I have been teaching for five years.  I am currently teaching Second grade at Westdale Heights Academic Magnet in East Baton Rouge Parish.
I graduated from LSU in December 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  My first teaching job was at Beechwood Elementary in Baton Rouge.  I was hired as a second grade teacher and two weeks into the school year I was moved into a first grade class.  It was a challenging transition, but fortunately I had many supportive and helpful colleagues.  I taught first grade for two years and then sadly the school closed because of low enrollment.  I was very fortunate to get a second grade position at a new magnet school in Baton Rouge that was closer to my home.  I have been teaching at Westdale Heights Academic Magnet for three years and I love it.
I am married to my wonderful husband of two year's Chad.  We have two dogs, Remy a miniature schnauzer, and Guage a chocolate lab.  They were both our babies until we brought home Bradley Michael in April.  I use to enjoy playing beach volleyball
but I have not had the chance since Bradley has been here.  I also
enjoy listening to live music, being outdoors when it's nice, and
Michele and Chad
going to LSU football games.
I have always wanted to get my master's degree and the time is finally right.  I feel as  though technology is the future.  It is always evolving and I want to be able to give my students the best opportunities to use it.
